Children who come to our hospital with acute illness are greeted by a nurse who performs an initial examination and discusses the concerns of each child's parents to triage the child's care. The nurse then determines whether a child's health condition is serious enough to warrant treatment in the Emergency Department. For illnesses or injuries not considered to be life-threatening, children are referred to our urgent care clinic, referred to as Kids Care, our fast-track clinic for children. Our Kids Care team treats children with an entire range of health issues that affect any health system of a child that comes to our hospital.
