An annual health fair, generously sponsored by Kohl's, where children and families are provided with hands-on health and safety information.

Injury Prevention Efforts
Our Injury Prevention Program provides families with key tips and information to help keep children injury-free.  

LA Street Smarts
A hands-on interactive neighborhood that helps children, as they walk through the portable set, learn the best way to stay safe while playing in or near the street.

The set can be brought to your community event.

Pediatric Disaster Resource Center 
A disaster management learning, training, and instruction center working to help ensure that Southern California health staff are prepared to handle the special care management needs of children in a disaster setting.  
International Outreach

Other Community-Based Activities

We collaborate with healthcare providers and civic leaders at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Free Clinic, Covenant House, the Los Angeles Unified School District and dozens of other organizations and associations.  Annually, the hospital provides over $50 million in community benefits, including:

  1. Care for low-income patients
  2. Community outreach programs for children and families
  3. Public health research
  4. Education and training for healthcare professionals
