Actually, there are many distinguishing characteristics of a place like Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which is considered special even among the very best children’s hospitals. But, the one that has the most impact on our children and families is our nurses – their compassion, knowledge and dedication really is what makes this children’s hospital such a special place. Whether an experienced RN or a recent graduate, our nurses come to Children's Hospital Los Angeles from all over the country because they want to work at the forefront of pediatric healthcare, because Los Angeles is one of America’s most exciting cities and because of the warmth and welcoming of the people here – physicians, nurses and other caregivers, and those who support them. The fact is, we value our nurses at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. They are at the heart of our mission. And, we are committed to both providing them educational opportunity and supporting their professional growth. I made the decision to move to Los Angeles almost three decades ago. It wasn’t an easy decision – moving to a new city to begin a new job rarely is – but in our nursing video, A Life is About to Change, you will hear from some of the fabulous men and women who, like me, have made Los Angeles – and Children's Hospital Los Angeles – their home.
