Portnoy, Ph.D., one of the world’s leading researchers in understanding the spread of facultative intracellular bacterial pathogens, was featured in The Saban Distinguished Lecturer Series at The Saban Research Institute of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles on Friday, September 14, 2007. Dr. Portnoy’s subject was how intracellular pathogens manipulate the biology of host cells and their innate immunity to promote their pathogenesis.
