Vacation, Personal Time and Sick LeaveTo work at the highest ability, employees need to take time away from their job for rest, recreation, and important personal matters. To accommodate those needs, we offer a generous time off program. As an employee, you will accrue vacation and sick leave, as well as receive personal time, bereavement leave, and paid leave for jury duty. VacationEvery employee accrues Vacation hours automatically, based on length of service at our hospital. Vacation is your bi-weekly accrual of hours that may be used for vacation or personal matters. Sick LeaveSick Leave is time accrued to allow you to take time off with pay for an absence from scheduled work due to personal illness or injury. One half of your annual Sick Leave accrual may also be used for absences required to care for the illness or injury of the employee's child, parent, spouse or certified domestic partner or the domestic partner's child(ren). Personal TimeEligible employees will be granted up to 16 hours of Personal Time at the beginning of January each year which can be used for birthdays, and religious holidays. Employees hired from January to March will be granted up to 16 hours and employees hired from April to June will be granted up to 8 hours of Personal Time. Employees hired from July to December will be granted 16 hours in January of the following year. Part time employees will be granted prorated hours based on FTE.
