Earned Time Off & Extended Sick LeaveTo work at the highest ability, employees need to take time away from their job for rest, recreation, and important personal matters. To accommodate those needs, we offer a generous time off program. As an employee, you will accrue earned time off and extended sick leave, as well as receive bereavement leave, and paid leave for jury duty. Earned Time Off (ETO)Every employee accrues Earned Time Off (ETO) hours automatically, based on length of service at CHLA. Extended Sick LeaveExtended Sick Leave is time accrued to allow you to take time off with pay for an absence of more than three days from scheduled work due to personal illness or injury. One half of your annual Extended Sick Leave accrual may also be used for absences required to care for the illness or injury of the employee's child, parent, spouse or certified domestic partner or the domestic partner's child(ren).
