Short-Term Volunteer Research Program
We provide high-level research education to individuals at many levels, including:
- high school
- undergraduate
- post-graduate
Students will learn to perform scientific experiments under the guidance of an experienced faculty mentor. Students are required to commit a significant period of time in order to make this educational training meaningful and enjoyable.
Trainees will learn how to:
- develop an important biomedical research question and the associated scientific hypotheses
- develop an experimental protocol to investigate the research question and thus test the hypotheses
- actively perform experiments, collect scientific data, analyze the results and draw appropriate conclusions
Applicants should have an idea of which of our research programs and investigators they would like to work with prior to applying.
Requirements
Applicants must be students (i. e. high school, undergraduate, or medical student), at least 17 years or older, and in good academic standing. Transcripts may be requested.
Application
Applicants who have an interest to work as short-term research volunteers should fill out our secure online application. Once received, the Office of Research Education will review your application. The application process is competitive and the decision will be forwarded to you via email.
