Infectious Diseases

Division of Infectious Diseases
Paige is now active in sports because she receives treatment for Kawasaki Syndrome at our hospital.

The Division of Infectious Diseases offers superior inpatient and outpatient care and consultation services to meet the challenges posed by pediatric infectious diseases.

This rapidly changing field requires specialized, innovative approaches to both common infections and more serious infectious diseases.

Each year, our physicians consult on more than 400 cases around California and serve more than 1,000 hospitalized patients with complex bacterial, fungal and viral infections.

These include toxic shock syndromes, bone and joint infections, multi-resistant bacterial infections, fungal infections, meningitis and encephalitis, tuberculosis, viral infections and AIDS, as well as infections that arise in transplant and immunocompromised patients.
