Department of Pediatrics
The Department of Pediatrics offers children and adolescents the finest multidisciplinary, family-centered care. Together, our outstanding specialists, state-of-the-art technology, and nurturing environment produce one of the nation’s most renowned pediatric programs.
Our respected Pediatric Residency Program and Fellowships are helping to produce the next generation of pediatricians and specialists.
The Department’s scientists work in conjunction with The Saban Research Institute to discover cures for pediatric disease and disability.

Department of Surgery
The Department of Surgery at is one of the country’s finest, most comprehensive programs, comprising a full spectrum of surgical specialties.
Well over 13,300 surgical procedures are performed here each year, including more complex surgical procedures than at any other hospital in Southern California.
Patients ranging in age from newborns to adolescents are treated in the hospital’s spacious, state-of-the-art Burtie Green Bettingen Surgery Center, which opened in 2001.

Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine
Our Department offers children, families and health care professionals an integrated program of patient care, education and research. The Department’s role extends outside the operating room setting to include pain management, remote anesthesiology, clinical consultation and critical care services.
Together, our Cardiothoracic Intensive Care and Pediatric Intensive Care units serve more than 2,500 patients annually, while the Comfort & Pain Management Program makes 4,000 patient visits each year. Nearly 18,000 anesthetics are performed each year. Through the Laura P. and Leland K. Whittier Virtual Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Department is extending its resources worldwide.

Department of Radiology / Imaging Services
Our Department provides complete inpatient and outpatient imaging services. Our physicians and healthcare professionals are experts at caring for children and are current on the most cutting-edge imaging technology.
We provide images and laboratory interpretations for physicians that are accurate and timely so that we facilitate diagnosis and treatment for children.
Our physicians work closely with imaging scientists to develop and improve ways of using cutting-edge technology to improve imaging techniques, and ultimately, care for children.

Department of Pathology / Laboratory Medicine
Our hospital houses a full-service clinical laboratory along with several specialty laboratories to meet our patients needs as well as the needs of our community.
We provide some of the most comprehensive pediatric pathology service programs nationwide. Our methods and techniques are state-of-the-art. And our staff are often consulted for their expertise nationally and internationally.
We are conducting basic, translational, and clinical research to improve medical testing, and resulting care for children.
