We celebrated National Nurse Week in May 2011 with our 10th Annual Nurse Essay & Visual Art Contest.

Hospital nurses responded by submitting scores of essays. Each was read by a committee of hospital executives. Those judged to be among the top submissions were read by a panel of leaders in the nursing profession.

Awards for Winning Entries

Nurses who submitted essays were hosted at special ceremonies held during National Nurse Week.  All submitted essays were published in a commemorative book.  Winners were awarded cash prizes:

  • Essay Winner - 1st Place = $1,000
  • Essay Winner - 2nd Place = $400
  • Essay Winner - 3rd Place = $200
  • Visual Art Winner = $400
