Pediatric Disaster Resource & Training Center website

We serve as the county resource on preparation for pediatric disaster.  

Our hospital is one of the sites of an annual tri-hospital disaster drill.  We use volunteer patients from local boy scout troops who present various injuries at our hospital for care. 

Training Center

In 2007, the hospital was awarded a Healthcare Facilities Emergency Care Program Grant.  Should a natural or manmade disaster impact large numbers of pediatric victims, Children's Hospital Los Angeles will lead the coordination of care for children. 

Our Pediatric Disaster Resource & Training Center will help:

  • Provide information and assistance for other hospitals to treat pediatric victims that arrive at their facility in response to a large-scale incident
  • Enhance hospital planning and cooperation in Los Angeles County to include planning for pediatric surge capacity 
  • Enhance the community's ability to respond to and address pediatric needs
