Calvin Lowe, MD

Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Keck School of Medicine of USC

Born, raised and trained in Southern California, Dr. Lowe has been at CHLA for 20+ years. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Children’s Emergency Transport Team and facilitates a sedation service in the MRI suite.

Dr. Lowe has been a past Executive Committee Member of the Section on Transport Medicine. He has published numerous articles on transport research and the role of pediatric transport team in disaster situations. He has also authored many chapters on various pediatric subjects.

Dr. Lowe has also lectured on various topics such as pediatric transport medicine, flight physiology, drowning, pediatric sedation and toxicology. His current research projects include pediatric transport medicine, pediatric sedation and pediatric pre-hospital medicine.

Dr. Lowe has given many television, radio and print interviews. He has been quoted in the Los Angeles Times and has appeared on “Larry King Live” and on BBC (British Broadcasting Company) Radio.
