Patient Experience and Satisfaction
As part of supporting the best possible health care experience for patients and families while they are in our care, our team relies on feedback that we obtain from independent surveys conducted by the National Research Corporation.
Below, we provide data that reflects CHLA’s scores on two key measures (overall and willingness to recommend) that reflect the feedback of our inpatients after discharge.
This score reflects the percentage of parents that gave CHLA a 9 or higher on a 10-point scale for overall patient experience.
National Average - 79 percent
CHLA's Score - 88 percent (This is 11 percent higher than children's hospitals nationally.)
Would Recommend CHLA
This score reflects the percentage of parents that indicated that they “would definitely recommend Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to their family and friends.
National Average - 86 percent
CHLA's Score - 92 percent (This is 7 percent higher than children's hospitals nationally.)
CHLA participates in the Child HCAHPS survey, which has been endorsed by the National Quality Forum. The measurement tool was developed by the Center for Excellence for Pediatric Quality Measurement with support from the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
