Airway Center

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles provides families with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary evaluation to ensure that your child’s airway problems are resolved. Many times children need to meet with a variety of specialists, such as allergists, immunologists, pulmonologists and surgeons, to have a well-rounded evaluation for treatment. At the Airway Center, the Division of Otolaryngology coordinates and manages the specialists’ evaluation and treatment to guarantee that the disorder is cared for in the most appropriate way.

Coordination of Care

We tailor your health care experience so that you can get as much as possible accomplished with each visit. This includes lining up the appropriate specialists from the diverse areas of our hospital that could assist with your child's diagnosis. Our goal is to provide coordinated care that will be more efficient and convenient for you than if you had to find separate specialists for your child on your own.

Children’s Hospital has a state-of-the-art Sleep Center on site, which is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The center is family-friendly and has four beds. It is staffed by licensed therapists, nurses and technicians. The laboratory performs daytime nap testing as well as full overnight polysomnography testing.

The Airway Center is managed by physicians from our Division of Otolaryngology. The center is able to treat more complex airway problems, such as subglottic and tracheal stenosis, than any other center for children in the United States. • Pediatric surgeons
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgeons
  • Pulmonologists
  • Thoracic surgeons
